COMMAND PERFORMANCE

Commands The Stage heads to Sandown tomorrow for her first city start.

The daughter of Commands was excellent on debut, before finding a very wet and gluggy track at Yarra Valley last start and with the prospect of better weather, the Ellerton Zahra trained three year old will be in the race up to her ears.

A good contingent should be on hand and if her debut (seen below) is any indication, a great band of enthusiastic owners will be there to cheer her on.

ALL ROADS LEAD TO PINJARRA

Pacific Bloodstock will have it’s second starter in WA today when Finbars Whistle lines up at Pinjarra for trainer Simon Miller.

A son of the highly regarded, Not A Single Doubt from On The Whistle, Finbars Whistle is engaged in the Maiden over 1400m (Race four).

The three year old has been a slow to mature and his task to break his duck at his first start has not been helped by drawing barrier 18.

We have an extremely high rate of purchase to starters and going on previous records, this guy will at least place, but probably win one soon.  Hope it is today.

TESTA SALUTES

Testa My Polish won his Maiden at Geelong last Thursday over 1425m in fine style.  At only his fifth start, the son of Testa Rossa has, apart from his last start failure, been a model of consistency for trainers, Ellerton Zahra.

The blinkers and give in the track, plus a very positive and well timed ride from Damien Lane, Testa My Polish led all the way after being headed in the straight, to win by 1.3 lengths.

Mat Ellerton will now give the gelding a brief spell before setting him for winter 3Y0 events, which may even see him get back to Flemington.

With owners positioned all over Australia, Testa had a small but loyal band of followers, but an army of many more cheering on from all parts of the Country

NADHIMA on Melbourne Cup day

Nadhima was far from disgraced despite finishing 11th at Flemington on Cup day and was beaten only 5.5 lengths.

A poor barrier and slow pace did not suit, but as usual she was brave.  Her next run will be at Moonee Valley on November 23rd.

Melbourne Cup day would not be the same without Colleen and Kevin Bamford. They have tasted success in the Cup with Americain who is now at stud both here in Australia and also in Kentucky.  Colleen and Kevin are part owners of Nadhima and it may well be a long range plan to mate Nadhima with Americain when she is finished racing.
