NADHIMA COMES TO THE BIG TRACK

Our bonny mare NADHIMA makes her debut Flemington today, on what has become one of the most famous race days in the world.

Engaged in race two, the daughter of Nadeem will contest a mares event over 1700m and will be ridden by Glen Boss.

She has not been favoured by a good barrier, but it is a great thrill for her owners and trainer Max Hinton to have a runner on Melbourne Cup day.

Here is Nadhima during the week at the beach with her trainer on board.

NADHIMA – Takes The next step

Nadhima has always been a mare with ability, but soundness issues had prevented her from showing her absolute best on the track.

A switch to Max Hinton, a quiet environment and the beach has turned this all around and culminated with a slashing third last Wednesday, in the $100,000 Black Pearl at Geelong.

The race contained a classy selection of group an city winning mares and under a perfect Dwayne Dunn ride, Nadhima stormed home beaten into third placing by a margin of a head by a head.

She received significant interference which we feel cost her finishing closer, however the stewards did not agree and we remained in third placing.

Nadhima will now head to Flemington if she can gain a start for some unfinished business.

Here she is seen laughing at the camera on the track last Friday.  Nadhima is a quirky lass, she doesn’t like pats or attention, which is clearly shown here.

Crookhaven returns

Stable star, Crookhaven has returned to Mark Kavanagh’s Flemington stables.  A little late for the Spring riches, the son of Fastnet Rock is set for a great preparation after an illness curtailed his last time in work.  A winner at both Flemington and Sandown, Crookhaven is lightly assessed and should rip through the classes in the latter part of the year.  Here he is seen at the stables today and some of his owners took time to pose with Cox Plate favourite, Atlantic Jewel.  We have shares available in Atlantic Jewel’s close relative, a filly by Manhattan Rain. Enquire today on how you can become involved for  a very small outlay.

TWO SHILLINGS – Worth a Bob or Two?

Authorized colt, TWO SHILLINGS made his debut yesterday at Ballarat for Mornington trainer, Max Hinton.

Unsuited on the heavy ground, the diminutive colt was very brave in running third on a totally unsuitable Heavy 10 track.

Ridden by Chad Scholfield, Two Shillings was slow to begin but made steady ground and caught the eye with a nice finish.

The colt, by an Epsom Derby winner should stay, and his jockey, one of Australia’s most promising was full of praise for the horses courage over the 1200m journey.

Here is Chad talking  to a couple of very excited owners after the race.
