Mark Kavanagh was a very successful jumps rider but it’s as a trainer where he has excelled.

Mark was living in Mount Gambier when he started training in 1991 and was leading trainer in the South East District Racing Association 1992-93 Season. His first full season as a trainer he backed that up with another win 1993-94 season.

Mark then opened a Satellite stable in Adelaide and soon trained successfully out of both stables.

Mark believes owners need to be kept informed and that’s a priority.

In 2007 Mark opened a stable at Flemington and enjoyed immediate success that Spring with Divine Madonna, Maldivian and Devil Moon all wining at Group One level.  He unearthed another potential super star the following Spring in Caulfield Guineas winner Whobegotyou and experienced one of his biggest days on a racetrack when Maldivian won the 2008 MVRC Cox Plate, and stable mates Sea Battle (Waterford Crystal Mile) and Whobegotyou (AAMI Vase) won on the support card.

The dynamic duo of Matthew Ellerton and Simon Zahra based out of Flemington are one of the best combination in Victorian training ranks. Consistently in the money in both city and country races, they boast a very healthy strike rate.  Trainers of the Golden Slipper winner, Crystal Lily as well as Sunburnt Land, Star of Giselle, Response, Foreplay and Black Bean.

Roll The Ignition is another of the winners, Pacific Bloodstock has enjoyed with Ellerton Zahra, they really make racing enjoyable.

Robert is one of the most astute trainers in Australia and from humble beginnings at Ballarat, he has developed a very powerful stable that consistently wins at the elite level.  Whilst his love of the stayer and jumping horses is well known, Robert has recently displayed his ability to train juveniles to great success at all forms of the sport.

His patience and thoughtfulness, is particularly rewarded with fillies where has has trained the likes of Mosheen, Fontein Ruby and many other top fillies, although it is not surprising that his ability to train young horses was highlighted early with the champion juvenile Lets Get Physical who won the Blue Diamond.

He campaigned the hurdler, Zabenz on the International stage some years ago and this year had his first Royal Ascot runner with  Shamal Wind.

He is currently is fourth on the Victorian Metropolitan Trainers table.

John Sadler is a journeyman and has achieved many accolades in racing.  From his base at Colac, Sadler rose quickly through the country ranks and was soon entrenched in the famous Aquanita stables at Flemington where he trained with distinction for many years.  A stint in Dubai and Singapore before returning the full circle from Flemington and now at Caulfield, J D Sadler has  always had a nice horse in the barn.

Known for his astute placement and attention to detail, John is an ideal trainer for Pacific Bloodstock as he does not suffer fools and he is brutally honest with  owners about their horses chances.

Among his better horses were Lady Jakeo, Kenvain, Jolly Old Mac, Pressmans Choice and Efficient.

Based at Benalla, Peter has been an integral part of our breaking in, pre training and in some instances, trainer to our team. He is small, hand on, is a farrier and ensures our horses are given first class attention.

Peter trained Fabriano to win city races and controversially lost the Albury Cup on protest with that horse.

All veterinary practices employed by our trainers and other suppliers come with first class credentials and are fully trained and equipped to ensure that any remedial care that is required by our horses is undertaken in a most professional manner.
